My Fellow Citizens,

Here are the Democratic and Republican points of view that make sense:

THE DEMOCRATIC ARGUMENT:

We live in a land where we choose our leaders by exercising our right to vote.

Everyone has one vote regardless of personal power, position, or wealth.

In the past we might have allowed ourselves to not vote, but we cannot afford to do that any more.

The people whom we elect at the county and city level affect our lives, and those of our children, as surely as those whom we elect to state and national office.

I am writing to you (and thank you for reading this) because I refuse to witness the loss of your vote!

There has been much talk by the Republican party about why we should vote for their candidates.

But what have they ever done for you and me?

In times past they have pretended to help America by pushing for individual federal tax cuts while spending more money on their favored policies- in other words, the message was that we should sell our vote in exchange for a few dollars while saying its ok to inflate the national debt.

Too many of us fell for that sales pitch and then wondered why there was a sudden increase in state and local taxes [for example, here in Texas the state inspection fee for a regular automobile went from $7.50 to $10.50] as our elected officials tried to figure out how to survive the sudden absence of federal government revenue.

We also saw a rise in the amount of homeless people and in the crime rate.

It took the work of Democratic leaders to undo the mess.

Now we again have a caring government, the crime rate has decreased, and the country even has a surplus instead of a horrible deficit.

Let us not repeat the mistakes of the past!

Let us remember the words of another Democratic President who once said "We must be conservative where dollars are concerned, liberal where people are concerned".

Understand that the opposition Republican candidates are glossy on the outside but dull on the inside in their understanding of the needs of ordinary citizens.

It may seem a simple way of addressing the difference between the parties, but I urge you to vote and vote for all Democrat candidates.

You alone have control of your vote, and the power you possess as a thinking and caring citizen is something you can be proud of in this election year.

Please vote for Democratic Candidates and make the people of this area that we love and know so well a true reflection of government of the people by the people.

THE REPUBLICAN ARGUMENT:

My Fellow Citizens,

The idea that government is the solution is incorrect, I agree with those who say, like Ronald Reagan, that government is the problem. Government is paid on the backs of the people. Think not that a tax cut that helps you keep your own money is good if another big government program in your area increases your taxes to make up for it.

What have the Democrats done for your area? Do you see better streets? Do you see a more prosperous downtown? Do you see people encouraged to run their own business? Do you see support for those who create jobs? No, for the democrats believe that if you are a person with talent enough to create your own company, then it is their job to make sure you do pay for welfare programs. It is like in the communist countries, where those who produce more must settles for less as even those who produce little must settle for more. It is a built in fallacy and no good government should support it.

Believe NOT those who say the Republican party does nor care for the poor, but as  a great man once noticed, feed a man and he will be hungry again, teach him how to fish and he will feed himself forever. I paraphrase a man by the name of John Lennon. Imagine a land where the top three jobs in the area are NOT government funded jobs and you are in a land overflowing with milk and honey, and this is the prosperity that Republicans believe in.
