A Wedding in Eden

Like the hummingbird longing for nectar sought by the honey bee,

I so desire the essence of love you render silently, sweet flower.

Yours are the silky petals I caress and in whose folds I seek

Pearl shaped drops of morning dew in hours with you.

Oh lie on this bed and lay your lilac scent on my pillow,

Stretch your graceful Grecian curves and arch your reach

Across the night like waters clawing up the sandy beach.

Wander in my passion like the waders in morning waters do

And the happy dolphins too when they seek orange sunshine,

When they emerge from deepest dreams and dive into the air.

Call my name in whispers or in a scream like the winds will

When they screech across the waves until in ecstasy the thunder

Of our storm, this love we call ours, will the shoreline kiss.

Yes, sweet woman, lady rise and in your eyes I see the mist

Of another day when heaven’s stars in silence wept for love.

Let not the sorrow now past darken the morning for Light

Is the sword of my love that come dawn pierces the night.

Above the bay the clouds of day do form a hand and we

Shall raise ours too and the breath of life is given me

And you as even the bellows of the winter furnace blow

To melt the gathered snow in which the blood red flowers

Shall touch the pipes of golden light and press the sky.

Your embrace is like the river and my presence shall guide

Like the rocky unmoving shore will the currents incite

To wander into the barren sands where the thorny bush

Awaits athirst in flames of summer colors in the wind.

You are the bride of my spirit and the rainbow shall dress

Your visions of love but I shall in my rage unveil you.

I am the ancient fiery soul you knew and like Charon I ferry

You across the Styx like the groom shall his woman carry.
