And If I Have Not

The darkened whitewashed lighthouse stands on the moonlit sands aglow

As waves thunder and pound the water and ground below.

Yes, the cold wind tears at your hooded hair but I hold you warmly.

Ah what a feeling to be by your side on this silver night, oh see

Through these living pools of joy with which you look at me,

How the ragged clouds are tinged as they rush westward bound and we

Kiss ever so tenderly, claiming a warm caress in the cold infinity.

My love for you is such that I want this moment to last forever.

My simple thoughts I can express but your laughter makes it clear

That you see and feel as I do - but for the way you say I play with words.

I love how you love me and I love love so much tonight it must be the moon.

I tell you I have never ever seen it so bright as tonight and civilization

All around us is asleep for they have promises to keep while we

Stand feeling at home so far from home and but for a moment more

Stare at the foam that bleaches the night's restless shore. Oh please,

Whisper to me a story of you and let me just look at you as you speak;

There is such magic in your gentle voice and grace in your eyes.

The inland landscape is awash in the liquid glow of the lesser light,

But your eyes reflect a spark I know is lit in your heart for me.

I love you and oh how I want to say it - please let me forever try.

Somehow through all nights and across the space we traverse as we do,

Be it for the call of the wild or because of a foreign battle and its trail,

It is your most gentle kiss that moves me, your softest touch that lingers.

Just like the full moon's silver beams I want you too to stay.

Come hither and may the power of our love’s decree shine brightly too.

And if I have not recently then let me again say how much I love you.
