Hands of Love
Brown as the earth from
which God made Man
And solid as the Faith on which we stand
Are these hands of Love you have chosen to clutch.
Whiter than sunbleached rainwashed rock is your touch,
And your fingers are like tree branches stretching
For the winds as I reach to hold your hands.
We are together through all types of weather,
And longer than mountains endure shall our love hold true.
More than flesh to my flesh, I am one in Spirit with you,
More closely knit than bone to bone by our Lord are you
Bonded to me in Love's mystery and I love you
As deeply as the powers that hold sun and moon
In the sky, as purely as the pristine light
That fills the void of the galactic night.
How warm is our touch in our silent time of love;
How soft is your caress upon my nakedness,
How firm is my grasp as I sweetly clasp
Your loveliness and your tender body embrace.
Oh my lady your beauty is by the Divine
Formed and made sweet as the fruit on the vine
Is made ripe like our love and the Spirit wine
I taste on your kiss as you taste it in mine.
Hold these hands of Love eternally,
Forever by me be, on earth as wife, and in heaven
As companion in cosmic fields our Lord rules over
And which He holds in His star-filled plans,
Which He loves with a love Eternity understands,
And by Whose Grace I came to hold your hands.
