I Love You Like Only God Knows
Mary I love you like only God knows and I pray our days
Be made of gold and rose like when the Weaver of Destiny lays
The wheat over the meadows and the thorny flower fills
With the fragrant power bred of clear waters from rocky hills,
When He takes threads of Sun from the Spring day dawn
And spins them on earth shapes until the hearty rose is spun.
Mary your love for me when we hold hands and speak
Is clear in your eyes and there is such gentle power that I
Love your blessed smile, so please stay with me forever.
For there is no earthly power that can separate my kiss
From your silky hands, from your lovely spirit and I seek
To make you happy, to find the place where your laughter
Will fill many hours and night will be clear as day for us.
Come, princess of delight, Madonna of the Eastern star,
Be never far from my joy, be as one with me for I love you
More than I can ever say in mere words and so I ask heaven
To send a messenger through the stars and the moon and sun.
Let light come from the heart of God and let it be within one
Being composed of you and me; yes, let Love be our song.
We praise the Creator of all things beautiful like children who
Run in the warm days of youth seeking fun and come night,
We seek a bit of rest and embrace the baby moon whose face
Is pillowed in clouds as we dream of deeds of joy and then,
If we be raised by the pillars of love we touch the Sun again.
