Last Night

Last night I saw such a great light in your eyes

I remembered why I love you so much.

I am sure I do not express

just how deeply you touch me,

and I could measure with precision

the depth of my love for you,

but they do not make rulers

that can gauge the distance between stars.

They say the speed of light is a measure of infinity,

and that love itself is infinite...

if so, then look into my eyes too, sweet angel,

and know then that in the light we continue to share,

be it dim for a night or as bright as daylight,

you too will see how deeply I love you.
