The Poet's Diary

Meditation III
(I Weep for the Sin)

I weep for the sin that has burnt the edge of my soul.
I pray that You now may make me whole.
My sins are like pebbles in my boots,
Like holes in my socks, like a rotten smell.
Please cleanse me as only You can, Jesus.
Please anoint me with your holy light.
Restore to me the blessed sight
That I may discern what spirit dwells in all
With whom I dispense the treasured time
You have allotted to me in my generation.
Quicken me and in this your vessel pour Your wine,
Lead me to share the bread.
Guide my hands when I make music,
Fill my mind and my voice adorn with the words
You want those around me to hear.
Be never far, stay always near.
Bless those I love and those who despise me,
Be their reasons false or true. Please save
My beloved from the eternal grave.
Deliver my days from waste and pain,
And fill my body with strength.
Purify me every moment and let Hope shine,
Let Love reign, Make Faith mine.
Oh God, You know what emptiness there is.
Replace it now with sweetest bliss
If it be Your Will that it be so.
I pray that it be so this time.
Oh Lord, look upon and remember me.
