I elevate my desire and
sublimate the passion
That wells up in me like a fountain of fire,
Like a volcano in the peaceful waters,
And I feel the space around me stirring
Like a hurricane around its center whirling,
And a solid peace centers in my heart by degrees.
I inhale and exhale while prayer flows,
I lift my arms and my eyes close.
I am one with You, oh resurrected Jesus,
May Your Spirit fill my every cell,
Till even in flesh all see Your presence
Dwelling within me in all fullness.
Strengthen me that I may overcome temptation,
Fortify me by the wisdom of Your Revelation.
There are two worlds and Man's trinity
Has placed his sight in the field of matter,
Yet the redeemed long for the spiritual gift
Of knowledge of the spirit body's reach.
So teach me, Lord, how fasting and prayer
Can bring about the supernatural channeling
Of Your fiery spirit water like when the door
In the sky opens and a torrent will pour
Upon the standing rooted palm and me.
When I place my foot at the portal of sleep,
That first death I often experience I hear
A noise that speaks of something higher
Than anything my hands of flesh can hold.
I pray the fear will disappear.
Lord, make me bold.
