Of You and Me

Your beauty and smile are fresh on my mind
as even holiday bells in the evergreen
toll in silver splendor for the masses.
Your warm kiss yet moves me
even hours after I touched you again.
I think of your lovely eyes wide open before me
in the candlelit night hours we shared
and it feels like a dream,
         a vision of delight,
The magic of being with you.

Have we not already
traversed crimson streets decked in ice
and danced with the blinking emerald lights
In the rainy holiday hours?
Yes there is within us a glowing love
that will endure long after the last drop of wax
has turned cold and been scraped off the floor.
I want you so much. I want so much with you.
Your angelic voice when we love is sweeter
to me than any merely mortal symphony.
The wild witchy taste of your strawberry kiss
    is an enchanted seductive charm
         I never want to miss.

The winter night is young so linger here,
    let me whisper love and hold you;
for all our yesterdays are like a fog,
and only come morning is love made clear.
In bright light I find your eyes meet mine,
and I want to love you by daylight for look,
all our tomorrows are but an unread book.
Wait now, before we fade into a filmstrip,
and before clocks peek and we seek flight.
let me quickly write a love story for two,
              of the second Arabian night,
                   of me and you.
