One Word

Oh how deep the furnace and so fiery

    in the depths of night your delightful kisses.

You are sweeter to me than the nectar flower must be

    to the hummingbird aloft in rapid ecstasy,

His little heart beating quick as mine when you

    are in my arms, sweet creation, you are

    as vital to my senses as water, air, and fire.

On earth I want you always by me; stay,

    come, renew the hope of sleepless vows.

My artless hands on your form find beauty.

My song is vibrant with adoration, please

    come closer and in a blazing kiss release

    my evermore radiant love, beautiful one.

My words burst forth like sparks on an anvil made

    by the Heavenly Smith for I am shaped a new blade.

This love was born in the depths of the sea,

    churned by many waters until we came to be

    blended by mountain movements into more

    than gold or silver ore, for such melt quickly.

He reached into the soul of mother earth and tore

    elemental particles of clay and living water,

    on which He sprinkled starlight in His crucible.

What words He spoke I wish I knew, for then

I would pray for many of you, beautiful friend.

But ah, there is just one and so tightly hold

    this sighing heart that loves you so, precious one.

We are a miracle no less than moon and sun.

If you were the sky I would want to fill the wind

    from east to west, to kiss every horizon;

    and if you were the restless whispering ocean,

    I would want to be a burning star to seek

    your cooling embrace, your sizzling kiss.

Like two lights for one sky, two edges of one sword;

    we are forever one essence, one soul, one word.
