RasaLynda

In September the sweet rain and cool wind with thunder came.
I sat on a bleached rock as lightning struck over the waters.
She came as a vision of beauty, dressed in a rainbow as her smile
And her eyes flashed delight and awe. Ah her voice was pure joy!
The valley lies between a mad river and ocean skies, you know
     the beauty of the land,

the flower that conquers the sands,
          is named RasaLynda.

Oh see her hold the world in a ball of crystal.
She came to me in flowing dress of browns and greens,
Her sash of gold wrapped tightly, her bosom heaving,

Her face aglow, and the shape of a flower in her hair.
She sat by me near that stream and her perfume kissed me.
Oh where do you come from, lady, for I have wandered far
From the wilderness cave where I dreamt of a flowering land.
Oh do not wonder too much for all you can see and touch
Is but a dream within your heart and I am a lost diamond,
She said in a voice I shall hear forever, for she is here now.
There is a place where the soul meanders when alone, seeking,
As if there is no other mission, then finding treasure.
Well you are a vision of beauty, and your face a blessing,
I said, feeling a flush flow through me like a fever. She smiled.
Behold the crystal ball and you will see where the world will be,
Gaze into the morning and see shadows of sunset before sunrise.
See the light of tomorrow year and hold me dear for I have more
To tell you than you ever imagined. Yes, love Wisdom oh man.
Ready to argue I raised a finger to point somewhere but then
She was not to be seen and so I searched the horizons in a blink.
Long was my walk and much did I see on the way back home.
But she greets me now at the door, as before, with a song.
Someday I shall tell the story -- tell of my RasaLynda, know now:
The spirit walking in the coming rains forever young remains.
