Tea for Two

Soul epiphany in golden glowing reverie,

flower yielding your nectar of an hour,

I seek to find your hallowed space,

to fill my cup with honeyed  light, so please

come over me like a jeweled city from above,

give me the song  of the universe.

Wisdom like essence of moon

was measured by the ounce and spoon in the city

as you and I wandered in the pastel coffee shops

          adorning the streets of Babylon,

where we sprinkled flavors and bits of newspaper

mixed with whispers and screams into our tea.

Ah the sleepless nights of travel winds and wanting

a piece of bread and hours of love with you.

There was a journey to seek truth and you should

or we did and I would anyway find it we could.

Sweet the rainy night’s sleep and to rise beside you,

finding today’s echoes in your laughter again.
