The Icicle Princess in Summer
Come let the cascade fall when the ribbons melt and like silky waters
In the thawing season will caress the intricate trails in the wilderness,
Your hair will unfold on your shoulders fair and your rose tinted kiss
Will bloom in joy when your heated breath will be as one with mine.
I feel your glow melt my icy heart as even the spring sun on the snow
Will touch the silent crystals’ soul like light of a radiant diamond may
Fall in rainbows from the sky and turn the coal night into blazing day.
The world is an igloo and our heat is like a spark from a higher power.
We feel it within as the winter wind whispers in the trees of the forest,
As the mountain peak howls with the distant storm that would descend
But for the skins that cover our shelter on this solitary wooded slope.
Follow me in a tunnel of light through evergreens where the sun shines
And we have held hands and marked animal tracks with crunched steps,
Teasing old man winter by making bird sounds at feathered skies.
Let the freezing hours chill as I hold you tight in our steam filled night.
There is no piercing of the bond between eternity and us and we love
As though forever we shall be lovers through the seasons. Let all time
Blend the hours and days into one as even purple grapes in the press
Surrender their hearts into one cask of wine. Come closer sweet one,
Though it be summer still and we walk gentle breezes on the hill,
Though the meadow lark sings and the turtle dove brings laughter.
We share divine love and gaze at the oil painted sunset with desire
Seeking sleepless darkness where we may keep if we find eternal fire.
