'Twas in the Sign of Gemini

'Twas in the sign of Gemini as hazy clouds above did fly
That we kissed in a twinkling breeze as golden stars streaked by.
Ah what surprise to find you in the tinsel city streets of night!

My voice sang its me

                              is it you

and in the spell of dusk your kiss
Made me realize how much I miss you when you are away.

We kissed and talked and noted shapes that formed above.

The sweet cherry night’s sky was a kaleidoscope, my love.
Oh where do your kisses go when I am miles away do they
Mix morning's violet air with colors of rose and carnation pink?
Will they taste orange lit hours of summer love like mine do?

I will forever recall how sweetly you gave yourself that first time.
You inspire a feeling one feels upon finding something long sought ,
Like that refreshing sensation of liberation after a desert walk
When parched throated steps on dry sands lead to the waters edge.
I think if I believed in reincarnation when I look into your eyes
I might feel like I have found a long lost love from another tribe.
In nights of stars and layered clouds or when the minted moon sails
Across our sight I want to feel your tender touch again as mine.
Why is it that I am far from you when I love you so? I wander
So far in Babylon to find faint fire unlike your bright presence.
I wish we were one forever. Let the Sun ignite the candle Moon’s light.
We weave Time's tapestry like intricate harmonies evolving into melodies.
I wish you were here I wish I was there for roses, wine and tea
And so many kisses and other things I would share with thee
Because I love you like we do sapphire stars on heaven's canopy.
So then when or if we ever be together again I will love you.

Whisper to me and in a kiss let me forever love you I only love you.
Though the stellar winds change the fabric of a hundred skies this know
Now: there remains love aglow within this heart wherever though I go.
