Above your windsong the silver starlight lies
While my brown orbs peek at the golden streaks
Reflected in your eyes as your soul sighs,
Madonna of the ritual skies, Love's magic
Has moved your heart to s(t)eal my vows
And without regret I pledge to forget
Sights, fragrances, sounds, flavors, touched by my flesh
And in my mystic crystal mind enmeshed.
I never thought such a pearl I would find
As you, my love, for whom my heart sings
While my spirit echoes the music of the spheres,
When I hold you, child of God, so heavenly near,
And your whispered blessings soothe me.
I am the one you looked upon to deem
Worthy of your most treasured possession,
This cup of nectar, now my obsession,
And I render good measure, pressed hard, and overflowing.
I've wandered like a miner seeking jewels of the Divine
And in you found Faith as great as mine.
You say I'm the one who was found by your prayer,
Although all along in my midnight's weeping,
In my solitary days of seeking and burning,
I felt like a sphinx for an ancient love yearning.
There was no Egyptian queen or princess
Possessed of such beauty as I see on your brow
As cold night is by your kisses made warm now,
As your clear eyes open wider to my love,
And God's angels beam in delight above.
